Pool leagues offer a great opportunity to network, improve your skills, have fun, and compete with other people. These leagues allow you to make new friends and create a sense of community. Some pool leagues have professional events. Playing well can lead to a lot of cash. You should be aware of these important points before joining a pool league.

First, find a league that matches your level of skill. There are many leagues you can choose from and you will be able to find the one that best suits your needs. If you're a beginner, the Megabucks Amateur Pool League might be the best option. Anyone with an interest playing pool can join this league. It is a friendly, welcoming environment that fosters healthy relationships between players.

The BCA Pool League is another good option. This umbrella membership organization provides logistical support for events, and allows you join pool leagues across different cities and countries. This league hosts over 500 leagues from all around the globe and is the largest amateur pool tournament.

BCA also offers a State Tournament Added Money Program. (STAMP) allows you cash rewards for playing in a state championship. Check out the STAMP Application on the BCA Pool League downloads page if you're interested in playing in a state tourney.

The Valley National 8-Ball League Association of (VNEA), the world's largest amateur pool league, plays in over 400 communities and towns throughout the United States. In addition to the United States, the VNEA plays in 36 other countries.


Many pool leagues have a handicap system. This allows players to compete with players of similar skill. If you're interested in joining a pool league, make sure you find out whether your team uses handicapping. Depending on your league, you may have to pay additional fees to participate in tournaments and to play.

The American Poolplayers Association (APA) is a nonprofit pool league that was established in 1979. Originally called the National Pool League, APA now has more than 250,000 members. While not all of the APA's leagues are eight-ball teams, most are.

The pool leagues are managed locally by pool operators so expect a friendly and fair atmosphere. Many of these leagues will give trophies and plaques to the winners of tournaments. You can also travel to other local pool halls, depending on which league you are in.

USA Pool League is an organization for organized leagues. Over 100,000 members are part of the organization, which offers both 9 or 10-ball. Their mission is to promote weekly competition on pool tables owned by their members.
